In 1923 several Companions of different Duties, decided to found a friendly of the Companions of Reunited Duties. The first meeting took place on 1 November 1923, during which the "Companion Vocational Courses" were formed.

In 1926 the Companions of theUnion compagnonnique, fixed in the department of Indre, after their T.D.F., decided to create a section at Châteauroux. The first meeting took place on 27 February 1927 under the impetus of the Gaugry Country, at the Hôtel de la Boule d'Or. Eight Union Companions were present:

Assisted by two Companions Maréchaux du Devoir, a Companion Bourrelier du Devoir, a Companion Charpentier du Devoir de Liberté. They officially founded the section of Châteauroux on 9 April 1927, an office was formed by Fr. Gaugry as its president; the seat being at the hotel of the Golden Ball. La Cayenne was finally installed at the first Reception, on 18 and 19 February 1928, by the U.C. de Tours, from which the majority of the founding members came. On this occasion three receptions took place, two more will take place later that year; including Benjamin Ledoux's cook, the Ledoux couple holding the Boule d'Or hotel.

1930, the section had a Mother, Mrs. Ledoux was inducted Mother in Tours, under the name Berrichonne la Bonté, she died in 1966. In 1967 Mrs Madrolle's candidacy was proposed and adopted unanimously. She was inducted in 1968 under the name of Berrichonne at the Heart of Gold, she herself died in January 2003. The Pays Gaugry died in 1934, since twenty presidents succeeded each other as president. Our first banner dates from 1929, thanks to Mother Ledoux's gift.

The section was the organiser of the Congresses of 1960 and 1999, city of passage of the 1968 European gathering, it also set up the 1st and 2nd youth gathering in 1982 and 1983, giving a new impetus to the T.D.F. In 1964, Pays Madrolle obtained from the town of Châteauroux, two disused cars, which served as a hall for evening classes and as a meeting room until 1971. On that date the Municipality allocates to the section of new premises, it is two buildings of the old learning centre Moulin de Salles, rue de Belle Rive. Name due to the presence already reported in the 12th century, of a mill in these same places. During the 19th century this mill became at "tan* and flour."

* tan, oak bark reduced in powder, used for tanning skins, numerous in the area, (Levroux, Issoudun).

After renovation by the Companions, one of the buildings is divided meeting rooms, classrooms, youth housing. The second became our museum, it was inaugurated in 1988.

A Companion of the Cayenne, Fr. Héliès was elected Deputy of Indre. The section set up, with the city and the state, a school yard that lasted a dozen years.

Companion Madrolle was elected on several occasions, President General of the U.C., before being President of the U.C. and the section.
