Apprenticeship is now a major training system in France.
and industry. It is, however, little developed in
value, long presented as a "garage lane".
However, the majority of apprentices are there by vocation, at 16 and 40 years old.
For several weeks, photographer Benoît Rajau pushed the doors of the
Training centres and professional high schools in Tours, Orléans, Paris and
Pantin to capture these portraits of apprentices at the heart of the workshops.
This exhibition bears witness with poetry to the diversity of the professions, the commitment
bodies and spirits and give to see learning in a new light.
In partnership with the Association Ouvrière des Compagnons du Devoir et du Tour de France (Towers
and Pantin), the Fédération Compagnonnique Régionale d'Orléans, and the training partners of the Union Compagnonnique: the lycée des arts du verre Lucas de Nehou (Paris) and the lycée des métiers Hector Guimard (Paris).
