On 18, 19 and 20 September 2026, the City of Pézenas will host the Rencontres des Métiers d'Art du Patrimoine, a new event initiated by Ateliers d'Art de France as part of the European Heritage Days. The aim of this event is to highlight the know-how related to the restoration, transmission and preservation of heritage, by valuing local and regional actors.
In Pézenas, the event will take place on the Butte du Château, a highly symbolic place of the Piscenese heritage. For three days, artisans of art, training schools, heritage associations, architects, decorators, communities and actors of public order will be gathered around the same objective: to make the public discover the richness of the heritage art professions and to encourage exchanges between professionals.
The Cayenne de Pézenas de lUnion compagnonnique United Duties will be fully associated with this first edition. Its participation is a testament to the commitment of the companions in the transmission of know-how, the training of young generations and the valorisation of the crafts of excellence. Along with the other partners of the territory, Pézenas' companions will help to bring out the companion spirit: a requirement for gesture, knowledge sharing, respect for heritage and openness to the public.
The programme includes stands and demonstrations of professionals on the Butte du Château, with the presence of artisans, companions, art masters, training schools and partners.Visits to workshops, conferences, round tables, thematic guided tours and projections will complement these days dedicated to living heritage.
By their active presence, the companions of Pézenas will recall that the heritage is preserved not only in stones and monuments, but also in the hands, gestures and values of those who transmit them.
