As early as 1874, the various companion societies sought to come together in a spirit of concord and fraternity, and previously opposed companions gathered in the Companion Federation of All Reunited Duties. In 1889, this Federation changed its name at the Paris Congress and became the Companion Union of the Companions of the Tour de France des Devoirs Unis.

The Companions shoemakers-bottiers du Devoir, founded in 1808, After a century of strong activity, they experienced a decline in their numbers at the end of the 19th century and decided to join the young Companion Union.

The Paris cayenne of the Companion Union is the repository of a magnificent banner that the bottlers left to them in the early 20th century. This banner now needs to be restored and, if part of the sum is already gathered thanks to the significant donation of a companion, we need your support to allow its restoration. The banner will then be placed at the Museum of the Companion of Tours.

If we know how to rely on the support of the friends of the companions and the Companion, all the companions, whether of the Duty, the Duties, the Duty of Liberty or the United Duties, are called to participate in the preservation of this collective memory.
