It was in 1889 that the Nice Cayenne was formed, nine years after the creation of the Union Compagnonnique des Compagnonnes du Tour de France des Devoirs Unis, by Lucien Blanc, dit « Provençal the Resolute », following the wishes of Agricol Perdiguier, « Avignonnais la Vertu ».
In Nice, the first president is the Benoist Country, Compagnon Cordonnier Bottier. On 1 January 1899 the new association entered into operation, organizing vocational courses, participating in the exhibitions of Tours, Bordeaux and the Universal Paris exhibition of 1900.
In 1905, President Benoist gave way to Léonard Ribes « Bordelais l'Ami du Devoir » who, two years later, consecrated the first Mother of the Nice Cayenne, Mrs. Grinda who became « Nice the Servable ». The meetings are now held at her husband's, Companion, at the Restaurant du Commerce, rue Biscarra.
