TOURS has always had a place of choice on the Tour de France.
Nothing has been simple in our Touraine, when on the impulse of Agricol Perdiguier developed a grouping of the various Companion Societies. The three Devoirs and Corporations had many seats located mostly in the northwest of the city, so close to each other.
In 1874 the "Fédération Compagnonnique de tous les Devoirs Réunions" was created under the direction of Lucien BLANC, but the Tourangeaux remained independent. In 1882 they applied for membership provided that "the Children of Solomon" were not admitted. This request is refused.
But on June 29, 1884, a number of the "Former Companions of Reunited Duties" became affiliated. The Lucien BLANC country comes to TOUR to form a new federal hive. At this event will be present, among others, the Cities of COGNAC, THE MANS, NANTES, ORLEANS and SAINTES and of course TOURS. A seat is established at the Hotel Bretonneau
In 1886 the Federal Chamber was made up of 44 Companions representing 11 Corporations.
140 companions are affiliated when the Federation becomes "COMPANY UNION" The Cayenne de TOURS was born on June 15, 1890, under the aegis of five founders and delegates of their Corporation. They were called: BEULE Félix, L.Ami des Arts, C. Bourrelier Harnacheur D.D., BÉLOUIN Félix Tourangeau le Bienvenue, C.. Sabotier Formier D.D., BOUTTEVIN Théodore, Sarthois La Wisdom, C.Tonnelier Foudrier D.D.L., LESOURD Louis Tourangeau La Gloire du Devoir C. Boulanger D.D., MÉCHIN Victor, Tourangeau Va de Bon Coeur, C. Sabotier Formier D.D. and MOUSU Jules, Tourangeau Le Bien Aimé, C. Bourrelier Harnacheur D.D. They took as president: BOUVIER Jean, Dauphiné Le Bien Dévoué, C. Wesseur Ferrandinier.
The following year, 34-year-old Victor (Fondator) took up the post of President, leaving only 54 years later. The SIMON Country, which arrived in 1923, became Vice President in 1928 and in 1945 succeeded the MECHIN Country, a post which he assumed until 1958.
The country CARRE working ankle and treasurer, bequeathed to our Cayenne in 1930 a house at 4 bis, rue de la Rôtisserie in TOURS, to give us a seat that the Companions the Tour de France, for decades, have enjoyed. The trilogy MÉCHIN, CARRÉ, SIMON will have marked the life of our Cayenne for nearly seventy years.
From the Countries BOUSSICOT Michel, JEUGNET Gaston, GIRONNET André, DURAND André, BAILLOU Christian, RAHARD Daniel, MEUNIER François, BLANC Michel, COURATE Roger, COLYBES Serge and today LABONNE Gérard have assumed or assumed with the help of the Touring Companions the march of our Section. For some of them among the youngest, they have held all positions and thus hold decades in the service of the Companionship.
Our Cayenne organized three congresses in 1909, 1957 and 2002. She participated actively in the development and creation of the Companion Museum which opened in 1968, the same year as the European Rally, which was held successively in PARIS, CHATEAUROUX with the fence in our city, which remains in the memories of those who had the chance to participate. And then since 2005, we have thanks to the benevolence of the Commune of CHAMBRAY LES TOURS and many efforts of some Companions, a second seat with easy access, which allows us to provide courses in the culinary occupations and after an expansion in 2006, in the other professions in our section.
In 2014, we sold our national street premises to move to Joué-Les-Tours in a spacious and well-equipped building.
