After 3 years of work, the National Museum of Immigration History reopens its permanent gallery on 17 June 2023 with a completely renewed, more didactic and evolving space integrating recent research on immigration in France.
Combining archival documents, photographs, paintings, sculptures, posters, life paths, contemporary artistic creations and digital mediation tools for all ages, the new Museum brings to every visitor the essential elements to know the history of immigration and understand that it is an indivisible component of the history of France.
At the inauguration on Tuesday 13 June, the companions of the Companion Union of Paris came to share the pride of their president, cook companion Boris Algarra, Algerian Faithful Heart. Indeed his artistic work of reception has entered the permanent exhibition of the museum.
Indirectly and modestly, the presence of the Companion, through the work of Companion Boris Algarra, is a tribute to all foreign workers who have been working in France for generations.
We will continue to believe that trades and know-how are essential elements that bring peoples and cultures together and that Companionship is the fraternal home of all workers.
